Vishwakarma Puja, also known as Vishwakarma Jayanti or Engineer’s Day in some parts of India, is a Hindu festival celebrated in honor of Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect and craftsman of the gods. He is considered the god of architecture, engineering, and all types of craftsmanship.
Key Rituals and Celebrations:
1. Cleaning and Decoration
Workspaces, tools, factories, and machinery are cleaned thoroughly.
The place is decorated with flowers, rangoli, and garlands.
2. Setting Up the Idol or Image
An idol or image of Lord Vishwakarma is placed on a decorated altar.
Sometimes, tools and machines are also kept near the idol as part of the worship setup.
3. Offerings (Prasad and Naivedya)
Fruits, sweets, coconut, and special food items are offered to the deity.
Prasad is distributed among workers and family members.
4. Aarti and Chanting
Devotional songs, bhajans, and aarti of Lord Vishwakarma are performed.
Some may chant specific Vishwakarma mantras for blessings.
5. Community Celebrations
In factories or industrial areas, group pujas are held.
Speeches, awards, and communal meals (bhandaras) are common.

Kanya Sankranti (the last day of the Hindu solar month Bhadrapada), which is on 17th September 2025.
